With a few fellow WBMC committee members…
Atters Attree – former elected Chairman (and host) of the World Beard & Moustache Championships (1987) on stage at the Brighton Center (Main Hall) with some of the international hopeful contestants (above & far bottom).
Having personally asked Mr Cave (above) to be one of the judges at the event, on stage I referred to him politely as “Nicholas” and was publicly rebuked by a mildly irate Mr Cave repeatedly shouting “My name is NICK!” With an earnest apology I corrected myself and flamboyantly re-introduced him as “Mr Nick Cage!”.
Footnote: A few weeks later I bumped into Mr Cave who merrily told me had been both “humbled and honoured to be a judge at “such an incredible and amazing event” and that he will fondly remember it for the rest of his life.
